The Community Learning Centers (CLC) provides the following care during the school year:

  • Before School Care - at (8) elementary locations

  • After School Care - at all elementary locations, except for Horace Mann

  • Extended Care Days - On most No School days, the CLC offers care from 6:30am-6:00pm at (10) elementary locations

  • Students do NOT have to be enrolled into the before and after school to participate in Extended Care Days. However, they must pre-enroll into the CLC to be able to register for these days.

We have been noticing some unsafe behaviors in the morning before school. Please remember keeping students, parents, and staff safe as everyone arrives at school is our number one priority.

Some important things to remember:
-Dropping students off without first pulling over to the curb is dangerous to all
-Using the designated crosswalks makes sure your student is safely escorted across the street
-Everyone has somewhere to be, but be sure to watch for kids and go slow in the school zone
-Exiting the circle drive with a right turn can help get you on your way more quickly and is safer than trying to turn left during such a busy time

Remember we want to keep everyone safe during morning drop off, thank you for helping us do that!

Although we are many at Hayward, we are also one. At our annual Somos Uno celebration, our handprint mural shows how well we all fit together as a community.

Although we are many, we are also one. Our handprint mural celebrated this at Somos Uno.
May was a short month and it can be one of the hardest months of the school year. It is a busy month full of programs, field trips, testing, and the thought of summer vacation coming soon. It can be a lot for anyone to navigate and we wanted to celebrate one last batch of students who worked hard to be here everyday, be accountable all the time, worked hard even though the school year is nearly over, practiced kindness with everyone, and worked at staying safe. In addition to our classroom Hawks, our staff that helps out with busing everyday wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate our fifth graders who have been amazing leaders on the bus all year long. These students have led by example when it comes to being to the bus on time, using respectful language and voice levels, staying safely seated, and helping younger students by reminding them to follow the bus rules. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mayo fue un mes corto y puede ser uno de los más difíciles del año escolar. Es un mes ajetreado, lleno de programas, excursiones, exámenes y la idea de las próximas vacaciones de verano. Puede ser un desafío para cualquiera, y queríamos celebrar a la última generación de estudiantes que se esforzaron por estar aquí todos los días, ser responsables en todo momento, trabajaron duro a pesar de que el año escolar está a punto de terminar, fueron amables con todos y se esforzaron por mantenerse seguros. Además de nuestros Hawks de aula, el personal que ayuda con el transporte escolar a diario quiso aprovechar la oportunidad para celebrar a nuestros estudiantes de quinto grado, quienes han sido líderes increíbles en el autobús durante todo el año. Estos estudiantes han dado el ejemplo al llegar puntualmente al autobús, usar un lenguaje y un tono de voz respetuosos, permanecer sentados de forma segura y ayudar a los estudiantes más pequeños recordándoles que cumplan las reglas del autobús.
