Did you know that there are currently almost 800 students classified as homeless in the Sioux Falls School District? This means they are living in a situation that is not meant to be permanent housing. Some are living in shelters, motels, doubled-up with other families, in cars, and worse. Many of these kids rely on school to provide two nutritional meals, 7 hours of heat, and safety. We want to make sure each of these students has a new fleece blanket to take home before the long winter break from school. Will you consider helping?
Volunteers are needed to make blankets! Join us on Saturday or host a blanket-making party of your own.
Donations of fleece and funds are needed. Please consider making a donation today!
Because of our generous volunteers, we have been able to provide 43,000 blankets to children and families in need over the past 19 years!! WOW!!

A huge thank you to Isla Carrier-Damon, one of our amazing students, for bringing donuts for the staff today! Your thoughtfulness and generosity brightened our morning. We appreciate you, Isla!

We’re competing with 33 other SD schools to collect pop & beverage tabs for Ronald McDonald House Charities!
Save your tabs from soda, soup, tuna, pet food, and more, and bring them to school to drop in our RMHC Pop Tab House. Every tab helps families with children facing medical challenges!
The competition runs through April—let’s show everyone how Lobos lead the way!

Exciting things happening in our lunchroom!
Gay Anderson, SFSD Director of Child Nutrition, was here today. She had the opportunity to talk with students about their favorite (and least favorite) school lunches!
We’re also thrilled to share that we’ve launched a new lunchroom system with two serving stations to help things flow faster — and our students absolutely rocked it! Now everyone is through the serving lines and ready to eat in a flash!
A huge thank you to our very own Dawn Stoakes for her hard work, creativity, and vision in making this happen! Less time waiting in line and more time to eat...that's a winning combo for our kids!

🇺🇸 Honoring Our Veterans 🇺🇸
Today, our school held a heartfelt assembly to celebrate and honor our Veterans. Students proudly introduced the Veterans who joined us, showing appreciation for their courage and service.
A special surprise made the day even more memorable — our 4th-grade students were recognized by the VFW for their respectful behavior during the VFW Flag Etiquette training. The 4th grade teachers and Dr. Vik were honored by the Veterans for their work in creating a wonderful school full of respectful students! Each of them was presented with the US VFW Challenge Coin in recognition!
Thank you to all who served and currently serve and to our students and staff for making this celebration so meaningful.

5th Grade Vocal Concert Success!
Last Thursday, our talented 5th graders presented “Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People’s Ears,” bringing the story to life through music, movement, and expressive storytelling. Their energy, teamwork, and creativity made the performance truly unforgettable!
We are so proud of each performer and all the hard work they put into making this concert a success.
A very special thank-you to our wonderful music teacher, Mrs. Melanie Sander, for her dedication, passion, and leadership. Thank you for inspiring our students and sharing the joy of music with our school community!
