Parent volunteers that are helping with Friday’s Fall Classroom parties! If your student normally rides the school bus or goes to daycare after school - and he/she will be going home with you - please let us know. This is very helpful at dismissal. Please email Jennifer.Hogan@k12.sd.us or Jasmine.Iddings@k12.sd.us – or feel free to call the office. Also, as a reminder, all visitors are required to check in at the office with a government issued ID.

Reminder! Discovery is still collecting socks for Socktober! Discovery’s goal is to collect 1,000 pairs of new socks for the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House in Sioux Falls. The greatest need is adult socks. We will be collecting socks until October 31.

Classroom 103 has been learning about nouns. Check out their "Noun Town"! Great job, 103!

Classroom 506 had a special visitor! Former Discovery Kids Inc. Site Coordinator, Mrs. Alyssa Lackey (Milbauer), spent 80 hours with them for her placement for pre-student teaching. One of her science lessons was doing experiments related to matter. On her last day, the classroom took a group photo. Thank you for spending time with us, Mrs. Alyssa!

Memorial Middle School (MMS) is giving back to the community! They have four, core values and they focus on one each quarter. First quarter, they focused on community - what does it mean to take care of and give back to the community.
Their grand finale community project is to provide a safe and fun environment for our west-side trick-or-treaters on Halloween night. The MMS PRO Time classrooms will be hosting Treat the Halls of MMS on October 31, from 5:30 - 6:20 pm. MMS students are decorating doors and will be passing out candy at 47 locations throughout the MMS halls.
Children accompanied by an adult are welcome to attend. MMS would love to see future Mustangs trick-or-treat with them on Halloween night!

Missing anything? We have several items in our lost and found. You can look during school hours by checking in at the office.

Prairie West Library is closing at noon on Friday, October 20. If your student normally goes there after school, you will need to make other arrangements.
